Appeal procedure

Everyone has the right to request that a website, mobile application or any element thereof be made digitally accessible. It is also possible to request that information be made available through alternative means of access, for example by reading a document that is not digitally accessible, describing the content of a film without audio description, etc.

The request should include the details of the person making the request, an indication of which website or mobile application is concerned, and a means of contact. If the person making the request indicates a need to receive the information through an alternative means of access, they should also specify a convenient way for them to receive this information.

The entity should comply with the request immediately, no later than within 7 days from the date of the request. If it is not possible to meet this deadline, the entity shall immediately inform the person making the request when the request can be fulfilled, but this deadline may not be longer than 2 months from the date of the request. If digital accessibility cannot be ensured, the entity may propose an alternative means of accessing the information.

If an entity refuses to comply with a request to ensure accessibility or provide an alternative means of accessing information, the person making the request may lodge a complaint regarding the digital accessibility of a website, mobile application or element of a website or mobile application. Once the above procedure has been exhausted, a complaint may also be lodged with the Ombudsman.
